LA Underground legend Abstract Rude connects with DJ Vadim for the new mixtape The Owl’s Cry. One of music’s best kept secrets Abstract Rude continues to show why he’s one of the most talented artists to touch a mic, flexing his smooth flow with perfectly placed metaphors and symbolism laced throughout his rhymes. With a unique and distinct tone, Ab separates himself from the average MC with poet like lyricism. Production handled entirely by German born producer DJ Vadim brings a cohesive feel to the project from beginning to end.

More Info The Owl’s Cry:

From once unknowingly being label mates at Ninja Tune, (DJ Vadim direct & Abstract Rude via Big Dada) circa 1997, to a decade later working together on DJ Vadim’s The Soundcatcher lp (BBE), this LA to the UK connection has had time to marinate. Abstract Rude, the Los Angeles hip-hop artist/MC/singer/veteran of Project Blowed & The Good Life/Freestyle Fellowship family (ref THIS IS THE LIFE, Ava Duvernay directed film he stars in on Netflix). And DJ Vadim, the consummate UK hip-hop artist & limitless music producer/DJ/performer, who since inception has maintained his worldwide legendary status throughout every era.

Both men share a relentless work ethic that keeps them both in the studio always creating new music and/or touring in support of a project they’ve released. Since The Soundcatcher, Abstract Rude toured nationally with DJ Vadim in North America & the Czech Republic, then in the following years Ab was featured on a few DJ Vadim releases: The Electric, The Dub Catcher & the Dub Catcher remixes. DJ Vadim, during those same years lent production for a couple of Abstract Rude releases: Steel Making Trax and his last lp Keep The Feel: a legacy of hip-hop soul.

April 7, 2017 marked the release of The Owl’s Cry by Abstract Rude & DJ Vadim on Keep The Feel Entertainment (Rude’s own imprint distributed by Alphapup Records). A sound odyssey 12 program lp, mostly produced by DJ Vadim, (with guest producers Kenny Segal & Resin Dogs) arranged together in mixtape style by DJ Zole. MC features include Haiku d’etat & Maya Jupiter + a who’s who of indie rap hero drops. Once again Abstract Rude displays hip-hop’s international reach with the crafting & global threading of his healing music.
