Welcome to another edition of PoPolitickin. In this episode, we politick with emerging rap artist Nizzie.

Chavon Vanias was born and raised in the music industry. Today he’s known as the hip-hop artist, Nizzie. He is a lyricist that expresses his love for music and his unique perspective on life through thought provoking words and imagery. He calls his lyrical style, “Club Conscious” because he delivers club head bangers with a message you might not even notice is there as you’re rocking out to one of his songs.

A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Nizzie spent his early years down South before moving to Brooklyn, NY to live with his father, Tony Vanias. Tony worked in the A&R departments of Motown Records and Island/Def Jam, where Nizzie met and was inspired by music pioneers such as Stevie Wonder, Sean “Puffy” Combs, and Jay Z. Entertainment was in Nizzie’s blood. Initially exploring his acting talents with several roles in local productions, however, music was his passion and has been his daily grind since he was nine years old. Those many late nights in the recording studio with his father nurtured a burning desire for Nizzie to put his own pen to paper to write and develop his skills as a lyricist with something to say.
