Thanks for stopping by to politick with us. I was reading that you are originally from the Baltimore area? What made you relocate? Can you discuss your background and how you fell in love with music?

I was born in Baltimore but I moved to Germany before I was even twelve months old. I’m the youngest kid out of five, and grew up the only boy. My dad was in the army so I had the opportunity to move around a lot and meet a variety of people. My mom was a school teacher and always encouraged me to be creative. Music was something that has just always been in me, I fell in love with how music makes me feel from as far back as I can remember. Even as a toddler music made me experience potent emotion. So I was always in the band or singing in the school chorus.

Can you talk about your artist name?

My First name is Floyd and I recognize the sky as a metaphor for my music. Before anything there was the sky and after everything the sky will always remain. I also like the elevated aspect of the sky being something people always look up to in wonder. It’s very inspiring, so that’s how I got the name Floyd In The Sky. My music is really different and just does what it wants making itself an eternal wonder.

Who would you compare your self to musically?

I could see my music playing side by side in a playlist shuffle with artist like Childish Gambino, Tyler The Creator and Kendrick Lamar

Who is your most dedicated and loyal fan?

My journey is just beginning and there’s so many more people I have to meet, I don’t think I’ve met my biggest fan yet.

Can you discuss your current projects and plans for 2020?

CloudLike Vehicle is the next release that I’ve been working on. It’s a really cool body of songs where none sound the same. Each song gives a different vibe and lets the listeners go where ever they want, So that’s coming soon and other than that I’m looking forward to doing more shows country wide starting at SXSW in Austin, Texas 2020

Can you describe the new single “Immortal”? Is there a music video for it?

Immortal is a favorite of mine. It’s a record that hits more aggressive tones and rapid fire word play. I designed it like that to display my penmanship. I balanced it out with a nice melody to compliment the intensity all while delivering a message that acknowledges time doesn’t wait for anyone but if you do things that are immortal and timeless then you can escape that hold and anxiety. A video is currently in the works.

If someone never heard your music before, what is the first song that you would want them to hear?

Since my catalog of songs was made with the intention to be versatile and offer many sounds based on the listeners taste, I would ask the question first of what kind of music they were into and based on their answer I would be able to point them in a certain direction, but Immortal is my current single so definitely give that go.

Have you worked with any known MC’s/Producers,etc?

I’m looking forward to working with all sorts of people as I continue to grow. There’s so many great creators out there and the opportunities will be endless for making great pieces of work.

Thanks for coming thru. Anymore words for the readers, where can we check out more of your music?

My music is available on all streaming platforms, and I love to connect on instagram @FloydInTheSky that’s where a lot of my current events get posted first. Also thank you for taking an interest in me
