Newport, Arkansas rapper and Adaman2m Entertainment artist Yung Villigan presents “Got Me On Go”, the Lexi Banks-produced single from his debut mixtape Dreams To Be The Man. Villigan recently released visuals for single “Live It Up” (Youtube). When asked about the new single, Villigan says it came from “how I was feeling at the time. My little brother had just been incarcerated and it was a lot of stress at home so I just felt like it was time to go and step out of my comfort zone and chase the dream.”
How did you get your stage name?
My name came from what I originally called myself – Yung Ville. After getting serious with my music I seen that there were other Yung Villes. So I went with my alter ego Yung Villigan. It fit me and my personality more anyway.
What made you decide to become a rapper?
I come from a musical family so I’ve always been around music. Hip hop music was just something that really caught me young. It always has been something I’ve been in love with so I started writing my own raps young and never looked back.
What’s the first rap song you ever heard? Describe the moment.
The first rap song I just remember hearing had to be “Brenda’s Got A Baby”. My uncle Mookie was a big 2Pac fan, plus he was rapping himself. I remember he was leaving and before he left he gave me a cassette tape and it was 2Pac. I remember running home from school and playing that cassette over and over till I remembered every word. I was hooked to rapping after that.
How did “GMOG” come together?
“Got Me On Go” just came from how I was living and feeling at that time, period. The money always got me on go… tryna get more. Like Jeezy said: “Run the streets all day / I can sleep when I die”. He chasing a check. It got him on go. That’s how I be feeling… I’m always on go.
What are your plans for the rest of the year?
I just plan to keep working the plan. Keep killing shows, keep recording and knock out this project I’m working on. And overall just building my fanbase… letting the people know… Adaman2m Ent. and Yung Villigan… We here and ready.
