SF/PDX artist Dubble-OO SpaceAge returns to forefront with his new album, Next Level, after a brief hiatus from recording following the death of his musical mentor The Jacka. Available on LiveWire Records and distributed by Empire, Dubble-OO SpaceAge drops off 13 new joints for his fans who have been patiently waiting to hear from him. Tapping the talents of J-Stalin, Husalah, and Mikey Vegaz – DubbleOO keeps guest appearances to a minimum on this new project and it’s obvious he’s had a lot on his chest to get off. Leading off the album with “M.I.P. (Mob In Peace) is an introspective tribute to The Jacka over spacy synth work and laid back drumwork, setting the tone perfectly for the rest of the project. Dubble-OO SpaceAge possess the rawness and hustle of an underground rapper, smooth game of an East Oakland pimp, but also has the ear for production that can give his music a more commercial appeal; packed with hard hitting drums and huge 808’s. A tribute to the Thizz Nation and OG’s of the Bay area scene, Next Level also adds new trap elements to keep everything updated to a 2016 sound. It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Dubble-OO SpaceAge and we have a lot to catch up on.
